Melbourne Disability Expo informonline.org.au 27 The Melbourne Disability Expo 2018 My future, my choice The Melbourne Disability Expo was more relevant than ever in 2018. The NDIS is now fully rolled out or being rolled out progressively across most of Victoria’s metro and regional areas. Under the new scheme thousands of Victorians with disabilities are expected to make decisions about their own care, or the care of their loved ones, and with so many services on offer this can be an overwhelming task. The yearly expo allows people with disabilities to find out about the latest products, services, technology, aids and equipment, by talking face-to-face with people working for those companies. It can be an important step in finding a provider who feels trustworthy, capable and respectful of your choices. This year the expo took place over Friday 16 and Saturday 17 November at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. Over 150 service and product providers exhibited at a stall, and visitors were able to try products, talk to industry experts, listen to information sessions and take advantage of the children’s entertainment. Independence Australia’s photobooth was particularly popular turn over the page to see some fantastic snaps from the day!
